Website Designing
2020 started out as everyone knows with hopes and dreams, plans, and life as we know it coming to a screeching halt around the world because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. I like many others was gearing up for a very busy few months of events, traveling, and business plan launches. One day I’m booked 33 days out of the next 40, and the next, within a span of 4 hours, everything was cancelled. Then within the next few days the nation goes on lock down.
Backtrack a month before this, I had taken time off to rebuild and launch my own website on a new platform, which you are currently on, updating content to get ready for new business opportunities. Now, of course with everything closing down, all my ongoing clients were in the same boat. I was now looking ahead at the next three months that were suppose to be jam packed, completely empty. As a self employed person, I had no hope of any financial help. For a few weeks I felt defeated. Trying to see if I could book anything and coming up short. That’s when I get a call from one of my clients, Kandyshop Bikinis. I had been in contact with them here and there about how they were having to close as well. The owner mentioned that since she had more time at the moment, that she was finally able to sit back and look at her website and realized it was not very good or updated. The person who had been in control of it before did not do their job. So I mentioned I had just redone mine. She took a look, and immediately asked how much I would charge to redo theirs. Now I use to build websites over 15 years ago so wasn’t exactly in my prime, but I still know enough to do more than most people with no experience. I took a quick look at the site and decided I would take on the project as it would at least be some source of income during a difficult time.
Fast forward a month, and I have completely redone everything for them. It finally looks like and actual business website now. Which was very much deserved as they have two major locations. There is still more to do on the back end and a TON of products to add and organize, but the main parts have been finished. I also had to deal with their social media channels and marketing channels, connecting everything to the website. I’m excited at what has been accomplished, and looking forward to improving it even more. The best part about it, was they liked it so much, that they are going to try to get me another account to update a website as well.
Could this be another source of income for me that I had not expected to get back into? Only time will tell!!!
